Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher in the Denver area for the 20262027 school year. Bring your dedication and expertise to support new classrooms as they open for the next academic year. This full-time position spans from August 6, 2026 through May 26, 2027, with a consistent Monday through Friday schedule (37.5 hours per week). You will be assigned to a single school within the district, with specific classroom assignments finalized soon.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelors degree is required
- Active Colorado Department of Education certification with relevant endorsements, such as:
- Early Childhood Special Ed (Grades P32)
- Special Education Generalist or specific endorsements for Affective, Autism, Cross Categorical, Functional Academics, or Severe Needs/Life Skills
- Prior experience working with school-age Autism populations
- Must pass district background check and fingerprinting requirements
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and group instruction to students with special needs, tailoring approaches based on IEP goals
- Foster an inclusive, supportive, and stimulating classroom environment
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to maximize student success
- Participate in IEP development and meetings, progress monitoring, and data tracking
- Engage in ongoing professional communication and collaboration within the school community
- Support functional academics and life skills development as required by specific student caseloads
