This full-time contract position centers on supporting a center-based Affective Needs program at the elementary level, providing dedicated resources for students who benefit from specialized educational approaches.
Youll have the chance to work on-site, collaborating closely with a passionate team of educators to ensure every student receives the support they need to thrive. The assignment runs through the end of the school year, offering consistency and engagement with a dynamic caseload.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid and active Colorado Department of Education teaching certificate
- Background in Special Education; experience with affective needs is highly desirable
- Comfort with elementary-age students and diverse learning profiles
- Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and encouraging learning space
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction, guidance, and behavioral supports to students in a center-based affective needs classroom
- Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and track student progress toward set goals
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, staff, and families on tailored interventions
- Adapt curriculum materials and teaching methods for varied learning needs
- Maintain detailed records and ensure compliance with district and state standards
