Qualifications:
- Valid Maryland Special Education Teaching License (required)
- Prior experience working with K-12 students in a special education setting is preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Comfort collaborating with general education faculty, families, and support staff
- Excellent communication skills, patience, and adaptability in a dynamic classroom setting
Responsibilities:
- Design, adapt, and deliver individualized instruction to students with diverse learning needs
- Develop, implement, and update IEPs in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team
- Foster a positive, supportive learning atmosphere that celebrates differences and encourages growth
- Track student progress, maintain thorough documentation, and assess instructional effectiveness
- Communicate frequently with parents and guardians on student progress and strategies for support
- Partner with school administration and staff to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
