Job Description

This part-time teaching opportunity supports a homebound 1st-grade student with cognitive impairment and an Other Health Disability (OHD) in Deer River, MN. The student is unable to attend on-site instruction due to COVID-19 precautions, requiring tailored educational support at home. The role requires flexibility, offering approximately 10 hours per week, typically split between special education and general education instruction, with some scheduling possible after school hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized instruction in both special education and general education to support the students academic progress.
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet cognitive needs and health-related constraints.
  • Collaborate with parents and school staff to monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with Minnesota state educational standards and student confidentiality.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid Minnesota teaching license.
  • Certification in both Special Education (any area) and Elementary General Education preferred.
  • Experience working with students with cognitive impairments and health-related challenges.
  • Ability to design and implement effective instructional plans for homebound learners.

Location and Schedule:
