An opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to support students with diverse learning needs in a school setting based in Decatur, AL. This contract position focuses on delivering specialized instruction tailored to individual student goals while collaborating closely with educators, families, and support staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) aligned with student strengths and challenges
• Adapt and modify curriculum to accommodate various learning disabilities and behavioral needs
• Provide direct instruction and support in classroom and small group environments
• Monitor student progress and maintain detailed records to guide interventions
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including speech and occupational therapists
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress
• Create a safe and inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes positive social skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification or licensure
• Experience working with students with a wide range of disabilities
• Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best instructional practices
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Ability to work independently while contributing as a team member
