This contract opportunity is based in the greater Deatsville region and offers an engaging environment serving elementary students with a variety of learning needs. Several positions are available, providing options to work in Inclusion, Self-Contained, and Behavior Unit classrooms within a dynamic team setting.
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Current Special Education (SPED) teaching license, verifiable through the state certification website
- Experience with elementary-aged learners across diverse ability levels
- Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet individual student needs
- Strong collaboration skills for working alongside other educators, therapists, and support staff
- Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction individualized to students with varying learning, behavioral, and developmental needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with teaching teams, administrators, families, and support personnel to ensure students academic and social-emotional growth
- Maintain accurate records on student progress and comply with required documentation
- Foster a supportive, structured classroom environment that enhances student participation and engagement
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and ongoing training as required
