This part-time contract role offers a focused schedule of 20 hours per week, with morning shifts spanning four hours per day. You'll support a manageable caseload of 19 students within a single high school, fostering a nurturing environment that promotes academic and personal growth.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active Special Education teaching certification for high school level
- Proven experience working with adolescents in a school setting
- Strong understanding of IEP development, documentation, and implementation
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Ability to craft differentiated instruction to address varied learning needs
- Creative problem-solving mindset and advocacy for students success
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction to students in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Adapt curriculum materials to meet a range of learning styles and abilities
- Work closely with other educators, parents, and related service providers to support student achievement
- Conduct assessments and contribute to regular progress monitoring and IEP meetings
- Create a safe, inclusive, and structured classroom setting that enables each student to thrive
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all special education regulations
