Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher supporting middle school students for the 2025-2026 academic year. Two dedicated professionals are needed to help create inclusive, engaging learning environments tailored to serve a variety of needs. This role offers meaningful work Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm with both in-person and virtual interviews available, providing flexibility for candidates looking to take the next step in their education careers.
Requirements for this position include:
- Valid Michigan teaching certification
- Mathematics (EX) endorsement
- At least one of the following special education endorsements: Autism (SV), Cognitive Impairment (SA), Emotional Impairment (SE), or Learning Disabilities (SM)
- Demonstrated ability to support students with diverse behavioral and academic needs
- Experience collaborating with staff, families, and related service providers
- Strong communication and adaptation skills, with a passion for fostering student growth
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver differentiated instruction to a middle school caseload, adapting lessons based on Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and other specialists to develop and implement effective learning strategies
- Monitor and document student progress, providing regular updates to parents, administrators, and IEP teams
- Create a positive, supportive classroom climate that encourages academic achievement and social-emotional development
- Support students exhibiting varying behavioral needs through proactive interventions and relationship-building
