Make an impact supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in a full-time contract position for the remainder of the school year. Key Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan Special Education teaching certification (MI SPED)
- Previous experience working with elementary-aged students preferred
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, IEP process, and best instructional practices
- Ability to effectively collaborate with teachers, staff, and families
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students in resource settings, ensuring their academic and social-emotional success
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) according to state and federal guidelines
- Adapt curriculum materials and teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning needs
- Collect data to assess student progress and adjust instructional plans as needed
- Work in cooperation with general education teachers to support student inclusion
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress and goals
- Maintain accurate records and compliance documentation
