Make a lasting impact as a Special Education Teacher supporting elementary students in a resource setting for grades Kindergarten through 5th. This contract role offers the chance to encourage growth and help students reach their full potential within a supportive school environment. Youll play a vital part in delivering individualized instruction and guiding young learners on their educational journeys.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Current and valid Michigan Special Education (SPED) certification is required
- Experience working with students in elementary grades, ideally within a resource or inclusion setting
- Knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with classroom teachers, support staff, and families
- Understanding of differentiated instruction and behavior intervention strategies
- Passion for advocating for students individual learning needs and fostering positive relationships
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted instruction to K-5 students with diverse learning needs within a resource setting
- Develop, implement, and track IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Deliver individualized and small group lessons aligned with students goals
- Monitor academic and behavioral progress, adjusting interventions as needed
- Communicate regularly with families to share progress and promote engagement
- Support students in accessing the general education curriculum and encourage social-emotional growth
- Complete required documentation and compliance reports accurately and in a timely manner
You will work full-time across assigned schools in Mt Clemens, making meaningful connections and helping each child thrive. Starting as soon as possible and continuing through June, this role is suited for a driven educator who values both independence and teamwork.
