Job Description
This full-time Special Education teaching position is available in Mt. Clemens, MI, for the current school year, starting ASAP through June. The role involves providing specialized instruction and support to students in Kindergarten through 5th grade within a resource setting. Qualified candidates will be licensed as Special Education teachers in Michigan and ready to make a meaningful impact on young learners' educational journeys.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the needs of K-5 students with special education requirements.
- Deliver instruction in a resource setting to support students in achieving academic and social goals.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to adjust curricula and provide effective accommodations.
- Monitor and document student progress and communicate regularly with parents and guardians.
- Maintain compliance with state and federal special education regulations.
- Participate in team meetings and professional development activities.
Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan Special Education teaching license.
- Experience working with elementary-aged students (Kindergarten to 5th grade) in a special education resource setting.
- Strong understanding of individualized instruction techniques and behavior management.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to adapt instructional methods to meet diverse learning needs.
