Job Description

Step into a rewarding role supporting young learners as a Special Education Teacher specializing in Autism Spectrum Disorder. This contract position focuses on an elementary-level caseload of seven students in Kindergarten and 1st grade, offering a collaborative environment with robust support. Youll work onsite, full time, alongside two dedicated paraprofessionals and benefit from strong building and special education team guidance every step of the way.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Special Education Teaching Certification with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) endorsement
  • Previous experience working with elementary-aged students, particularly in K-1st grades, preferred
  • Proven ability to create and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to unique student needs
  • Demonstrated classroom management skills and the ability to foster an inclusive, positive learning environment
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational abilities
  • Must be available for full-time, onsite work throughout the school year

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, individualized instruction to students in accordance with their IEPs
  • Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and the broader SPED team
  • Utilize evidence-based strategies and interventions tailored to students on the autism spectrum
  • Maintain accurate records, consistently monitor student progress, and adjust plans as needed
  • Effectively communicate with families and caregivers to promote student success
