Make a difference in students lives by supporting high schoolers as a Special Education Teacher on a contract basis. Located near Dearborn Heights, this opportunity allows you to provide targeted instruction and individualized support to a diverse caseload of 19 high school students with varying special needs. Youll work exclusively onsite at one school, contributing to a collaborative team and helping students reach their fullest potential.

Position Features:

• Full-time, 20 hours per week (4 hours each morning)
• Immediate start possible; position continues through Extended School Year (ESY)
• Interview process features a flexible schedule and a panel format, with hiring decisions made quickly due to immediate need
• Focus on individualized education within a supportive learning environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Valid Michigan Special Education teaching certification
• Experience working with high school-aged students and a variety of learning disabilities
• Commitment to onsite instruction throughout the assignment
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for interactions with students, staff, and parents
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) effectively

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging instruction and modify curriculum to meet the needs of each student
• Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed
• Collaborate with faculty, counselors, and support staff to create a positive, inclusive classroom culture
• Communicate consistently with families regarding student progress and challenges
