This opportunity is for a Special Education Teacher to support students with multiple disabilities, autism, and complex needs in a self-contained classroom setting. The role involves working with an elementary or high school caseload of 6-8 students, providing tailored instruction and support.
Location: Dayton, OH
Position Type: Contract
Hours per Week: 35-40
Required Certification: Intervention Specialist
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with diverse abilities
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the needs of students with multiple disabilities and autism
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Collaborate with support staff, families, and other educators to promote student success
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment that encourages growth and development
Qualifications:
- Valid Intervention Specialist certification
- Experience teaching students with multiple disabilities, autism, and/or complex needs
- Ability to manage a self-contained classroom effectively
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
