Job Description
This opportunity is for a special education teaching position within a K-12 school setting located in Bennettsville, SC. Candidates will serve in roles supporting PreK through high school students with diverse learning needs under an onsite contract for the current school year (CSY).
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a PreK self-contained classroom for 3-4 year olds at an early childhood primary school
- Providing specialized instruction with a caseload of students requiring special education services
- Supporting high school special education students through resource teaching and potential self-contained classroom instruction
- Collaborating with school staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and promote student success
- Meeting the physical demands of the position, including lifting and supporting young children
Required qualifications:
- Active South Carolina teaching license with Multi-Category (Multi-Cat) and Early Childhood special education endorsements
- Experience working with PreK special education students and high school special education settings
- Ability to manage a caseload ranging from approximately 10 to 25 students
- Commitment to onsite workno virtual or remote options
Hours and schedule:
- Full-time, approximately 37.5 hours per week, school year contract
