Job Description

Qualifications and Credentials:

  • Hold a valid Connecticut (CT) special education teaching certification
  • Previous experience working in special education, preferably with high school-aged students
  • Strong knowledge of resource and inclusion models
  • Proficient in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to build positive rapport with students, staff, and families

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and classroom support to high school students with IEPs
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt and deliver lessons in inclusion settings
  • Monitor student progress, document data, and adjust instruction as needed
  • Attend and contribute to IEP meetings and staff conferences
  • Deliver services across both resource and inclusion classroom environments
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student growth and needs
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal education regulations
