This onsite role nearby Danielson, CT, is designed for those who are passionate about uplifting students and making a difference within school environments. You'll work collaboratively with staff, students, and families to create supportive educational plans and promote academic success.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Valid 165 Comprehensive Special Education Certification
- Experience teaching special education at the middle or high school level
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Skilled in developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Adaptability and problem-solving mindset
Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction and support services to students with a range of learning needs
- Develop, implement, and track progress on IEPs, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations
- Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt lessons and provide accommodations
- Monitor and report on student achievement, growth, and behavioral progress
- Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes student success
- Participate in IEP meetings, staff meetings, and professional development
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress
