Job Description

You'll work full-time within a single accommodating school, serving students in a middle school AIM (Academic Intervention and Motivation) program through a combination of push in and pull out services.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Connecticut Special Education (CT SPED) certification required
  • Prior experience working with behavioral students at the middle school level highly valued
  • Strong classroom management and advocacy skills
  • Ability to collaborate with fellow educators, resource staff, and families
  • Commitment to building positive relationships and individualized learning strategies

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction and behavioral support to students through both push in and pull out models within the middle school AIM program
  • Develop, modify, and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's goals and progress
  • Lead and participate in IEP meetings, progress reporting, and ongoing data collection
  • Foster a positive, structured environment that encourages social, emotional, and academic development
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and support personnel to integrate accommodations and behavioral interventions across settings
  • Maintain timely documentation of student progress and communication with families

This is a full-time position, aligning with the schools schedule of 7:25 AM 2:40 PM, running from ASAP through the end of the school year. You'll benefit from working exclusively with one school, allowing you to focus on building meaningful connections and consistency for your students.
