Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting a Special Education Pre-K program designed for young learners aged 3-5 years. Located near Dalton, GA, this full-time assignment runs from August 4th, 2026, through May 21st, 2027, and offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in early childhood education.
As a vital member of the team, you will guide students with varying levels of need, many of whom are non-verbal or minimally verbal and exhibit behavioral challenges. The role includes hands-on support with toileting/diapering and feeding, making your compassion and adaptability essential.
Desired Qualifications:
- Possess an active GaPSC Teaching Certificate with endorsements in both Special Education and General Education for Pre-K.
- Experience working with early childhood populations, ideally in a special education setting.
- Familiarity with behavioral management strategies and adaptive communication methods such as visual supports or AAC.
- Comfort with assisting students in personal care routines, including toilet training and feeding.
- Strong collaboration skills, able to partner with aides, therapists, and families to foster a supportive, inclusive classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and adapt lesson plans to meet the individualized needs of students.
- Implement individualized education programs (IEPs), monitor progress, and report outcomes.
- Provide direct instruction and support in the classroom, including behavioral interventions.
- Assist with toileting/diapering, feeding, and ensuring student safety at all times.
- Collaborate with staff and families to facilitate optimal development and learning.
