Step into a rewarding position supporting early learners in need of specialized care and instruction. A full-time Special Education teaching role is available within a Pre-K program serving children aged 3-5 demonstrating diverse and complex needs. This contract opportunity runs from August 4th, 2026, through May 21st, 2027, with a consistent weekly schedule of 37.5 hours.

Here, youll guide young students in their developmental journey, providing a nurturing classroom environment for non-verbal and low-verbal children, some of whom require hands-on assistance with feeding, toileting, and other daily routines. Your expertise will be vital in fostering growthacademically, socially, and behaviorally.

Qualifications:

• Valid GaPSC Teaching Certificate with both Special Education and General Education Endorsements applicable to Pre-K
• Proven experience with young children in a special needs setting, especially those who require physical assistance and behavioral support
• Familiarity with strategies for non-verbal communication and behavioral interventions in early childhood education
• Outstanding patience, flexibility, and compassion when working with diverse learners
• Strong collaboration skills with families and educational teams

Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction tailored to each students IEP and developmental level
• Provide daily support with toileting, diapering, and feeding as needed
• Track progress and maintain clear documentation according to school and legal standards
• Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals, therapists, and families to promote whole-child success
• Support a caring, respectful, and inclusive classroom culture
