In this full-time onsite position, you'll guide a self-contained classroom of 12 students navigating diverse needsincluding autism, sensory processing, social/emotional disturbances, non-verbal communication, high- and low-functioning abilities, and the use of AAC devices. This hands-on experience allows you to sharpen your expertise, expand your resume, and master new approaches to individualized instruction and classroom management. Engage with a multidisciplinary team while continuously developing your practice and leadership skills.

Qualifications:

  • Active TX Special Education Teacher license (or eligibility)
  • Experience with self-contained special education classrooms preferred
  • Familiarity with AAC devices a plus
  • Compassion, adaptability, and excellent communication skills

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized instruction and classroom guidance to students with diverse needs
  • Foster an inclusive environment that supports both academic and social/emotional growth
  • Develop and implement IEPs with interdisciplinary teams
  • Assist students with daily living skills, including toileting as needed
  • Collaborate with families and other staff to support student success
