Job Description

Qualifications:

  • Active Georgia Special Education License with appropriate endorsements
  • Certification requirements:
    • Adaptive SPED Certification for Autism Level 3 (elementary self-contained classroom)
    • SPED General Curriculum Certification for Level 1 or Adaptive MI/MO (middle school self-contained classroom)
  • Experience in self-contained classrooms, supporting students with significant physical and academic needs
  • Background working with students on the autism spectrum preferred
  • Ability to adapt instruction and supports to meet diverse learner needs

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized instruction to students in self-contained environments, emphasizing academic, social, and behavioral growth
  • Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each students needs and goals
  • Work effectively with paraprofessionals, therapists, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Use adaptive curricula and strategies to foster engagement and skill development
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with state and district guidelines
