Position Overview: Youll be responsible for managing a caseload of approximately 5 to 10 students with lower-incidence disabilities. Your instruction will center on functional academics, communication skills, building independence, and preparing students for important life transitions. With a varied age group and close collaboration with other professionals, youll have the resources and support needed to positively influence your students progress and success.
Qualifications:
- Valid Texas Special Education Teaching license
- Experience with students with lower-incidence disabilities is highly valued
- Strong knowledge of IEP development and progress monitoring
- Ability to cultivate a supportive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
- Excellent communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized instruction based on IEP goals and student needs
- Integrate functional academics, communication strategies, and independent living skills into daily lessons
- Track student progress, adjusting teaching methods as needed
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize student outcomes
