An opportunity is available for a Full-Time Special Education Teacher to support an elementary caseload comprised of high-needs students. This position is located in Crested Butte, CO, within an elementary school setting. The role is offered on a W2 contract basis and is needed immediately to cover the remainder of the current school year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and adapt individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities.
- Provide direct instruction and support to high-needs elementary students in various academic and functional areas.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families to ensure cohesive, comprehensive educational planning.
- Monitor student progress and make data-driven decisions to adjust instruction and services accordingly.
- Maintain compliance with federal and state special education laws and regulations.
- Participate in team meetings, evaluations, and other collaborative activities to support student success.
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification.
- Experience working with elementary-age students, particularly those with high needs.
- Strong knowledge of special education strategies, IEP development, and effective instructional techniques.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with families and educational teams.
- Commitment to student advocacy and creating an inclusive learning environment.
