Step into an impactful role supporting special education in a dynamic elementary environment. A skilled Special Education Teacher is needed to provide maternity leave coverage in an onsite position for the 2026-2027 academic year. This assignment runs from mid-October to mid-January, offering the opportunity to collaborate closely with a dedicated team and a small, well-supported class.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Current and active Special Education Educator Certificate is required
• Proven experience working in special education settings, ideally with elementary-aged students
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with teaching assistants
• Experience developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Background working with students exhibiting high-functioning life skills is preferred
• Commitment to maintaining a positive, inclusive classroom environment

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver effective instruction to a group of approximately 8 students, assisted by three teaching assistants
• Plan and adapt lessons to meet individualized learning needs and IEP goals
• Track student progress and maintain accurate records
• Foster social, academic, and emotional growth in a supportive atmosphere
• Communicate consistently with school team members and families
• Support classroom management and foster a respectful, structured environment

This is a full-time, onsite contract from October 16, 2026, to January 15, 2027. School hours are 8:15 am to 3:45 pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
