What Were Looking For:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification (grades K-5 preferred)
- Previous experience as a special education teacher; resource room experience highly valued
- Background as a case manager is a plus
- Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet individual student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Teach and support students in resource room setting, adapting lessons to diverse learning styles
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families
- Maintain accurate records and submit required documentation in a timely manner
- Serve as an advocate and case manager, when needed, to coordinate services for students with special needs
- Employ positive behavior interventions and instructional strategies for varied academic abilities
