Youll work with learners across a wide range of grade levels from early childhood through high school tailoring instruction to meet individualized needs and helping students reach their fullest potential.
Key qualifications and experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching credential/certification appropriate for K-12 levels
- Classroom or resource experience with diverse grade levels (Pre-K, Kindergarten, Grades 1-12)
- Strong knowledge of math curriculum and strategies for differentiated instruction
- Familiarity with IEP development and implementation
- Ability to adapt lessons for students with varying abilities and learning styles
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with students, families, and staff
- Organizational skills for maintaining records, assessments, and progress monitoring
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, standards-based instruction for students in special education settings
- Work collaboratively with general education teachers and support staff
- Develop and modify Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in alignment with student needs
- Use a variety of instructional strategies to make curriculum accessible
- Create an inclusive, supportive classroom environment
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
- Communicate regularly with families regarding goals, progress, and strategies
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding special education
