Job Description

Make an impact by guiding and empowering students with diverse needs in a uniquely supportive educational environment for the 2026-27 school year. This full-time opportunity is for a skilled Special Education Teacher to lead a Life Skills Education classroom within the Intensive Services Program. With a caseload of only one to two students, youll deliver highly individualized instruction and behavioral interventions to youth requiring continuous supervision, personalized support, and specialized educational strategies.

Youll take the lead as both the instructional and behavioral expert in your classroom, coordinating individualized programming, managing staff collaboration, and ensuring a positive and safe learning atmosphere. Teamwork is essentialexpect to work closely with paraprofessionals, families, and multidisciplinary specialists to promote developmental and academic growth for students presenting significant intellectual, behavioral, social-emotional, and communication challenges.

What were looking for:

  • Valid Special Education licensure with experience serving students with complex needs
  • Background providing direct instruction in life skills, adaptive behavior, and positive behavioral supports
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing teams, supporting staff, and fostering collaboration
  • Strong communication skills with a commitment to building positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
  • Experience designing and implementing highly-individualized curricula
  • Expertise supporting behavior, crisis intervention, and de-escalation practices
  • Flexibility, compassion, and a deep commitment to inclusive education

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering engaging, data-driven instruction and behavioral support in a self-contained classroom
  • Supervising, coaching, and collaborating with paraprofessional staff
