Job Description

Bring your passion for helping elementary-aged learners thrive in a supportive educational setting. This contract position focuses on delivering quality special education services to a diverse caseload of 32 students with mild to moderate disabilities. You'll work alongside paraprofessional staff, collaborating to create an inclusive and encouraging environment for students who may be in a specialized classroom for most of the day or receive services as needed. The assignment runs through the end of the current school year, with the potential for renewal.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Oregon Teaching Certificate with Special Education endorsement
  • Prior experience teaching elementary-age students with mild to moderate disabilities preferred
  • Strong ability to differentiate instruction to meet various needs
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Willingness to collaborate with paraprofessionals, families, and school teams

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and small-group instruction aligned with students IEP goals
  • Develop lesson plans tailored to students' abilities and needs
  • Monitor progress and maintain accurate documentation
  • Collaborate with general education staff and support personnel to ensure effective student inclusion
  • Foster a positive, safe, and engaging classroom climate
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student evaluations
  • Adapt teaching strategies and materials to support learning and independence
