Make a meaningful impact in special education by supporting students in a full-time contract opportunity near Cottage Grove, MN. This assignment focuses on working in a cluster classroom with 10 students, alongside three dedicated paraprofessionals. The position runs from November 1, 2026, through February 15, 2027, offering a consistent 37.5-hour workweek, Monday to Friday, from 7:20 AM to 3:20 PM.
The ideal candidate brings experience from center-based DCD/ASD (Developmental Cognitive Disabilities / Autism Spectrum Disorders) classrooms and is committed to collaborating with fellow educators and paraprofessionals. Youll help create a structured, supportive environment where every child can grow and thrive. This role is 100% onsitethere are no hybrid or remote options.
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teaching credentials for Minnesota
- Previous experience in a center-based DCD or ASD-focused classroom
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to adapt instructional strategies for individualized student needs
- Positive, solution-oriented attitude
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction in accordance with IEPs for a caseload of 10 students
- Lead a paraeducator team, ensuring smooth classroom operations
- Collaborate with school staff and parents to achieve each students learning goals
- Implement behavioral and academic interventions as needed
- Maintain accurate records and participate in relevant meetings and trainings
