Make a significant difference in early childhood special education by supporting a dynamic K2 center-based classroom dedicated to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD). This contract opportunity offers the chance to provide high-impact, individualized instruction alongside a supportive team during the academic year.
Qualifications & Experience Sought:
- Active Minnesota Special Education Teaching License required
- Preferred endorsements in ASD, DCD, ABS, or cross-categorical Special Education
- Demonstrated experience supporting young learners with autism and developmental disabilities
- Skilled in writing IEPs, collecting progress data, and implementing individualized interventions
- Exceptional behavioral support and classroom management abilities
- Background in collaborating with related services professionals and families
- Center-based autism classroom experience highly valued
- Familiarity with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), sensory regulation, and functional skills instruction preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a collaborative, student-centered classroom of approximately six high-needs K2 students
- Design and deliver differentiated instruction targeting academic, behavioral, and functional goals
- Implement evidence-based practices and sensory regulation strategies
- Utilize strong data collection, IEP management, and individualized intervention skills
- Communicate effectively and proactively with paraprofessionals, related services teams, and families to ensure holistic student support
- Foster an environment that upholds dignity, safety, and growth for each learner
