Job Description

Empower young learners and make a difference in an inclusive, highly supportive setting as a Special Education Teacher for a K2 center-based Emotional Behavioral Disorders (EBD) classroom. This full-time, contract opportunity is available for the 20262027 academic year, offering you the chance to provide instructional leadership and behavioral support within a small-group environment. The assignment runs from August 31, 2026, to June 4, 2027, with a MondayFriday schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Bring your expertise and compassionate approach to a high-support EBD classroom and collaborate closely with a dedicated team to help students achieve their educational and behavioral goals.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current Minnesota Special Education Teaching License required
  • EBD licensure strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience supporting students with significant behavioral and emotional needs
  • Proficiency in developing and implementing IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) and BIPs (Behavior Intervention Plans)
  • Skilled in behavior intervention, de-escalation techniques, and classroom consultation
  • Effective communicator and team collaborator
  • Preferred: Previous experience in a K2 center-based special education environment
  • Familiarity with PBIS, CPI, restorative practices, or trauma-informed instructional approaches

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction and behavioral support to approximately six K2 students in a center-based classroom
  • Lead and participate in the development and execution of IEPs and BIPs
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment
  • Utilize de-escalation, restorative practices, and trauma-informed strategies
  • Collaborate with school staff and related service providers for comprehensive student support
