Responsibilities:

  • Manage a significant caseload, focusing on IEP development, documentation, and implementation
  • Deliver engaging and differentiated instruction to meet the needs of students
  • Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment in collaboration with school staff and families
  • Utilize the schools IEP system to maintain accurate and timely records
  • Attend meetings, including IEP reviews and school board sessions, as required
  • Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal regulations
  • Serve at one conveniently located school on a consistent 4-day work week, totaling 30 hours weekly
  • Work with a variety of students in need of special education services

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current NM Special Education Teacher license (NM SPED)
  • Strong organizational skills, specifically with IEP management
  • Previous experience in itinerant teaching roles a plus
  • Ability to adapt to changing caseloads and collaborate school-wide
  • Familiarity with school-based computer systems and data entry
  • Willingness to complete additional credentialing, including background checks and fingerprinting
  • Reliable transportation for necessary travel within the region
