This in-person contract role is available for either full-time or part-time schedules through the remainder of the school year. You'll have the opportunity to work within elementary, middle, or high school settings, depending on your experience and preference.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education (K-12)
- Previous experience teaching in elementary, middle, or high school preferred
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Passion for fostering inclusive learning environments
- Adaptability to meet the unique needs of a diverse student population
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to implement IEP accommodations
- Assess and document student progress toward educational goals
- Maintain regular communication with families and team members regarding student achievements and challenges
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to educational planning
- Create a positive, supportive classroom environment that encourages student engagement
