Job Description

This full-time Special Education Teacher opportunity is based in Winnsboro, SC, serving middle school students at a STEM-focused institute. The position involves managing a caseload of approximately 16 students with diverse special education needs. Candidates will find a collaborative environment with district-provided supervision support from paraeducators, Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT), or nursing staff to assist in providing optimal services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to middle school students' unique learning needs.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams and support staff to facilitate inclusive education.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with district and state regulations.
  • Participate in professional development and district-mandated training sessions.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid South Carolina Special Education teaching license.
  • Experience working with middle school-aged students in a special education setting.
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based interventions and special education law.
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse teams and communicate effectively with students, families, and staff.
  • Prior experience managing a caseload and developing IEPs preferred.
