Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity delivering specialized instruction to students in a supportive school setting near Columbia, SC, for the 2024-2025 academic year. Positions are available within elementary, middle, and high school environments, including resource rooms, learning disabilities, and emotional disability self-contained classrooms. This assignment runs from August 7th, 2024, through May 28th, 2025, with a weekly commitment of 3540 hours.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Active Special Education teaching license
  • Teaching certificate with endorsement in Learning Disabilities or Multicategorical Special Education
  • Experience working with elementary, middle, or high school-aged students in special education environments
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and classroom management skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with educational teams

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and group instruction to students with diverse needs, following IEP requirements and best practices for special education
  • Create an engaging, structured classroom environment for students in resource and self-contained settings
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and administration to ensure cohesive student support
  • Monitor student progress and maintain comprehensive records
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student performance and progress

Available Assignments:

  • Elementary school resource rooms and specialized self-contained classes (7:00 AM2:30 PM)
  • Middle school resource and self-contained learning disabilities classrooms (8:00 AM3:00 PM)
  • High school self-contained classes (8:00 AM3:30 PM) focusing on COAP, SET, and emotional disabilities
