Job Description

A rewarding opportunity is available for experienced Special Education Teachers to support students across elementary, middle, and high school levels in a dynamic South Carolina school district. This contract position spans the academic year from August 7, 2024, to May 28, 2025, offering a chance to make a meaningful impact on diverse learners within resource and self-contained classrooms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students with learning disabilities, emotional disabilities, and other special needs
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with state standards
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to foster an inclusive learning environment
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
  • Maintain accurate records and participate in team meetings and professional development activities

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Hold a valid Special Education teaching license with a Learning Disabilities or Multicategorical Special Education endorsement
  • Experience working with elementary, middle, or high school students in special education settings
  • Strong understanding of behavioral and instructional strategies for students with diverse special needs
  • Ability to foster a positive, supportive classroom atmosphere encouraging student growth and independence
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Position Details:

  • Work schedule: 35-40 hours per week with times varying by school level (Elementary: 7:00 am 2:30 pm; Middle: 8:00 am 3:00 pm; High School: 8:00 am 3:30 pm)
  • Various openings in resource rooms and self-contained classrooms designed to meet different student needs
  • Employment contract with typical onboarding procedures, including fingerprinting and background checks
  • Remote panel interviews conducted via Teams, with hiring decisions typically made within 24-48 hours
