This travel opportunity is for a Special Education Teacher to support diverse learners in a school setting located in Columbia, MD. The role requires expertise in developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong classroom management skills, a compassionate approach to teaching, and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including parents, therapists, and other educators.
Key qualifications and experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience working with students with various disabilities, including emotional, cognitive, and physical challenges
- Proficient in creating and modifying IEPs and instructional materials
- Strong communication skills with students, families, and staff
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to diverse learning styles and needs
- Previous experience in a school environment preferred
Responsibilities:
- Deliver customized instruction aligned with students IEP goals
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
- Collaborate with support staff and families to ensure holistic development of each student
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of student performance and compliance with regulatory standards
- Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and independence
- Participate in professional development and team meetings as required
