Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Hold an active Special Education Teacher certification (required)
  • Prior experience working with middle school-aged children preferred
  • Strong ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to support collaboration with families, faculty, and support staff
  • Adept at utilizing differentiated instruction and positive behavior interventions

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of middle school students, providing specially designed instruction and support
  • Develop, review, and update IEPs in compliance with district and state guidelines
  • Create an engaging, inclusive classroom environment that addresses various learning needs
  • Collaborate closely with general education teachers, school counselors, and other professionals to support students academic and emotional development
  • Track and document student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed
  • Engage regularly with parents and guardians, providing updates and recommendations
