An exciting opportunity is available for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support middle school students in the Bastrop, LA area. Desired Experience & Certifications:

  • Valid Louisiana Special Education (SPED) teaching certification is required
  • Previous experience working with middle school students preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt instruction to meet diverse student needs
  • Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive classroom environment

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver instruction and support to middle school students with special needs
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Collaborate with general education staff and specialized support teams
  • Foster a positive and productive learning atmosphere
  • Maintain accurate progress records and documentation
  • Communicate regularly with parents, staff, and administration regarding student progress
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training sessions

Position Details:

  • Full-time contract, 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday
  • Focus exclusively on middle school age group
