Job Description
A Special Education Teacher position is available in Parachute, CO 81635. This contract role involves working 40 hours per week, 5 days a week, supporting a caseload of approximately 25 students. Paraprofessionals are present in each classroom to provide additional assistance.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Colorado Special Education Teaching License
- Experience working with special education students preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with paraprofessionals and school staff
- Ability to manage an active caseload and tailor instruction to diverse student needs
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction aligned with individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Monitor and document student progress regularly
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals and other educators to create a supportive learning environment
- Participate in professional development and team meetings as required
- Maintain compliance with state regulations and school policies related to special education
