Qualifications:
- Valid Vermont Special Education Teacher certification required
- Experience working with elementary-aged students, especially in resource or inclusion settings
- Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners
- Proficiency in behavior management and positive reinforcement strategies
- Effective communication skills with students, staff, and families
- Collaborative approach to teamwork and problem-solving
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for assigned students
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to individual student needs
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
- Adapt curriculum materials to promote engagement and accessibility
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment
- Track and report student progress, and participate in IEP meetings
- Advocate for students needs and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
