Make a meaningful impact on a young learner's educational journey as a contract teacher specializing in both Special Education and General Education. This part-time role provides an opportunity to work with a homebound 1st grade student, supporting both their instructional and developmental needs. The position comes with flexibilitysessions can be arranged around your existing commitments, including after-school hours.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Minnesota teaching license required
- Certification in Special Education (SPED any area)
- Certified in Elementary General Education
- Experience working with students with cognitive impairments and/or OHD (Other Health Disabilities) preferred
- Dual certification in SPED and General Education is highly desirable
- Excellent communication and adaptability
- Compassionate approach to individualized instruction
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver personalized instruction to a homebound 1st grade student unable to attend school in-person
- Provide both Special Education and General Education support for approximately 10 hours per week (1 hour SPED, 1 hour Gen Ed dailyif dual certified)
- Adapt lesson plans to address the students specific cognitive and academic needs
- Coordinate with district educators and the students family to monitor progress and adjust strategies as needed
- Foster a supportive and engaging home learning environment
