A rewarding opportunity awaits skilled educators seeking a meaningful, flexible contract role supporting a young learner in the Cohasset, MN area. Youll deliver both special education and general education instruction to a homebound 1st grade student with a cognitive impairment and OHD disability. The ideal candidate is certified in both Special Education and Elementary Education, though those with licensure in either area are encouraged to apply.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Minnesota teaching license in Special Education (any area)
- Minnesota licensure in Elementary General Education
- Experience working with homebound or medically-vulnerable students is a plus
- Knowledge of strategies for supporting students with cognitive impairments or OHD disabilities
- Strong communication skills, flexibility, and commitment to individualized instruction
Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored instruction across general education and special education needs for a 1st grade student kept home due to COVID-19 vulnerability
- Prepare and deliver lesson plans adapted to the students learning level and needs
- Foster a safe, encouraging learning environmenttypically on-site after school hours
- Collaborate with families and school professionals to monitor progress and adapt support
- Keep records and documentation according to school and state requirements
This role offers roughly 10 hours per week, typically divided into daily hour-long sessions in each subject area. Flexible scheduling is available, with a preference for after-school hours based on student and family needs. The assignment is anticipated to continue through June 2022, with the potential to adapt based on student needs.
