Job Description

A part-time teaching opportunity is available to provide specialized instruction to a homebound 1st-grade student with cognitive impairment and an Other Health Disability (OHD). The student is unable to attend school due to COVID-19 related health precautions, creating a vital need for in-home or on-site educational support. This role offers approximately 10 hours per week, typically split into one hour daily for both Special Education and General Education instruction. Flexible scheduling, including after-school hours, is possible to accommodate the students needs.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Minnesota teaching license
  • Certification in Special Education (any area)
  • Certification in Elementary General Education
  • Experience working with students with cognitive impairments and OHD
  • Ability to adapt instructional strategies for homebound learners

Location:

  • Cohasset, MN area, serving nearby cities including Ball Club, Suomi, and Grand Rapids
  • Instruction may take place at school or in the students home as needed

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored instruction in Special Education and General Education to support the students academic growth
  • Collaborate with the schools special education team to develop and implement an effective learning plan
  • Monitor and report on the students progress regularly
  • Maintain flexibility to adjust instruction based on evolving student needs and health guidelines
