Key qualifications:

• Current New Mexico teaching licensure in Special Education
• High school certification required for SPED High School English and Biology roles
• Experience supporting students with a variety of learning needs, including intensive and resource settings
• Commitment to fostering inclusive classrooms and differentiated instruction
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and educational teams

Responsibilities and expectations:

• Deliver tailored instruction and support to students ranging from Pre-K through high school, with assignments available in high school English, high school Biology, middle school resource, elementary Intensive Learning Center (ILC), and pullout/inclusion environments
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Employ evidence-based strategies and accommodations that promote student independence and achievement
• Maintain thorough documentation and regular progress reporting
• Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to maximize student success
• Create a safe, positive learning atmosphere that respects diverse learners
