Job Description
An educational opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher specializing in early childhood development. This contract position is based in Clifton Park, NY, serving integrated and self-contained preschool classrooms for children aged 3 to 5 years.
Key Qualifications:
- NYS Certification in Special Education or Students with Disabilities Birth to Grade 2 is required.
- Candidates currently pursuing certification in Special Education Birth-Grade 2 are eligible to apply as Substitute Special Education Teachers.
Position Details:
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- Classroom Environment: Integrated and self-contained preschool settings
- Age Group: Children ages 3-5
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to preschool-aged children with special needs.
- Modify and adapt curriculum to meet developmental and educational goals.
- Provide a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters growth and learning.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other educators, therapists, and families, to ensure comprehensive care.
- Monitor and document student progress, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
