This full-time contract role offers the chance to support elementary school students with moderate to severe needs in a collaborative, resource-rich educational environment. The assignment runs from now through June 5, 2026, giving you the opportunity to build strong relationships and make a lasting difference.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid West Virginia Special Education Teacher certification
- Experience working with elementary-aged students, particularly those with moderate to severe learning needs
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate, adaptive approach to instruction
- Ability to collaborate effectively with other educators, support staff, and families to foster student growth
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction and support to a caseload of 2 elementary students with moderate to severe needs
- Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each students strengths and challenges
- Maintain detailed and accurate documentation according to local and state requirements
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture where every student feels safe and encouraged to succeed
- Regularly communicate with families and multidisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive support for student development
