Bring your expertise in special education to a fulfilling contract opportunity for the 2026/2027 school year in the greater Cicero, IL area. This is a full-time, onsite position supporting a K-3 Intensive Communication Program (ICP) with a small caseload: six students, each with significant communication and developmental needs. The classroom is staffed with two dedicated paraprofessionals, ensuring a collaborative and supportive environment.

Your skills will be instrumental in providing individualized instruction for students whose disabilities include autism, developmental delay, and intellectual disability. Many of the students utilize augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems, and the classrooms approach is highly structured, utilizing the Unique Learning System as an instructional resource. Instruction is modified to meet each student's needs, with a strong emphasis on developing foundational academic skills, functional communication, independence, and engagement through structured routines and visual supports.

Qualifications:

• Active IL Educator Certification required
• Experience or comfort level working with students with moderate to significant disabilities
• Familiarity with AAC and students with complex communication needs strongly preferred
• Background in highly structured, self-contained classroom settings
• Knowledge of significantly modified curriculum and individualized instruction
• Ability to implement structured routines and use visual supports
• Skilled in collaboration with paraprofessionals and related service providers
