Make an immediate impact supporting students as a Special Education Teacher working with 7th graders in an onsite position near Cicero, IL. This contract role focuses on co-teaching and fostering inclusivity in a middle school environment tailored for learners with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Key Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois LBS1 or Special Education teaching license required
- Possess a Professional Educator License (PEL) as required by the state
- Previous experience with co-taught classroom settings strongly preferred
- Familiarity with developing and implementing IEP goals, especially in reading and math
- Strong communication skills for working collaboratively with general education teachers, families, and support staff
Primary Responsibilities:
- Co-teach 7th grade ELA and Math, supporting a caseload of 10 students (5 in each subject area)
- Design and implement instruction that meets diverse learning needs outlined in each students IEP
- Scaffold general education content and support students mainstreamed for academics, specials, lunch, and recess
- Collect data and regularly monitor progress toward IEP goals
- Maintain compliance with state and district documentation requirements
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development as needed
