Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Hold a valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Special Education Teacher endorsement
- Experience working with students in K-1 or early elementary settings preferred
- Strong skills in developing, modifying, and delivering Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and families
- Flexibility and commitment to creating a nurturing, achievement-focused classroom environment
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to Kindergarten and 1st grade students with a range of learning needs
- Develop and implement IEPs in accordance with state and federal guidelines
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to promote student progress
- Utilize evidence-based strategies to address academic, behavioral, and social-emotional goals
- Maintain accurate documentation of student performance and communicate regularly with parents/guardians
- Adapt and modify curriculum as needed to ensure accessibility for all students
