Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification for the applicable grade level
- Bachelors degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
- Previous classroom or teaching experience in Special Education preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Flexibility and adaptability within a dynamic classroom setting
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design and execute daily lesson plans that accommodate students unique abilities and learning styles
- Assess students academic and behavioral progress, documenting outcomes and adjusting strategies as needed
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to align goals and interventions
- Create a safe, inclusive classroom environment that encourages self-advocacy and independence
- Maintain compliance with all state and federal special education regulations
- Attend and contribute to team meetings, IEP reviews, and professional development sessions
