Job Description

Empower young learners with diverse needs in a welcoming elementary school environment as a Special Education Teacher for PreK-2nd grade inclusion classrooms. This full-time, contract position offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact from July 29th through May 21st, 2027, including pre-planning days. Youll guide a small group of approximately 8-10 students, primarily in 1st and 2nd grade, with some kindergarteners, within a supportive and collaborative team.

In this setting, youll support students with autism, significant developmental delays, speech and language delays, self-regulation challenges, and learning disabilities. Theres no regular toileting or diapering required; however, youll supervise one students toileting routine as part of their individual goal.

Qualifications:

  • Valid and active Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) Teaching License
  • P-12 Special Education endorsement
  • Dyslexia Endorsement (required)
  • Experience creating inclusive and positive classroom environments for elementary-aged learners
  • Ability to differentiate instruction and collaborate with general education teachers
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Provide specialized instruction and support to meet IEP goals
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and families
  • Implement effective behavioral supports and differentiated strategies
  • Create a safe, encouraging environment that celebrates student growth
  • Monitor student progress and maintain required documentation
