Job Description

Your expertise will help align instruction with grade-level standards while giving targeted attention to each student's IEP goals and specialized supports. Youll have the consistent backing of a dedicated program aide, with additional 1:1 support staff according to student needs, creating a collaborative and resource-rich classroom.

Key qualifications include:

  • Valid and current Special Education teaching certification (Illinois Professional Educator License, LBS1 endorsement preferred)
  • Experience supporting students with diverse needs, including behavioral, adaptive, and communication challenges
  • Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
  • Familiarity with structured teaching, visual and sensory supports, and behavioral/social-emotional intervention strategies
  • Effective collaboration skills to work with related service providers, support staff, and families

Role responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored instruction to 4th-grade learners with diverse abilities
  • Develop, monitor, and document progress on individualized IEP goals
  • Implement structured classroom supports (visual, behavioral, sensory, and communication interventions)
  • Work closely with aides, 1:1 staff, and service providers throughout the instructional day
